KM, The weather in every state in the country, except CA, sucks at least half the year. The properties you mention in Dallas are priced for the upper-class. Middle class people can get 3,500+ sq. ft. homes in an excellent school district, minutes from employment, with a backyard that rivals tropical resorts, in Plano for $350,000 or so. There are even more luxurious homes available for 100K more. There is no comparison to the shtbxes in California that people are running after. What is the point of living in a place with good weather if you have to spend all your time inside trying to earn enough for the mortgage - someone clever pointed this out. You can fly to LA for less than $200 RT on American's specials. Regards Jay
