The article is about people, not about the city. My wife drives less than 5 minutes to work, I'm trying for a job 2 minutes from my home. A huge brand-new hospital is less than 5 minutes away. The largest shopping complex I've ever seen is 10 minues away. The lake (a big one) and my boat is 20 minutes away. There is a wilderness area with terrific mountain bike trails less than 5 minutes away. The public library is a minute away. Schools are less than 10 minutes away.

The major thing that sucks is the heat.. which is not so big a problem if you have a good AC man.

I'd love to live in the Bay area and avoid this heat, but it is turning out to be (like most desirable places) only affordable for long term owners. I wonder how the resident's children will be able to afford their own houses there.

Regards,

Jay
