Bush-Cheney jacked up the oil prices with their pals. You just proved my point. June 28, 2000 (which you use as a date) was right after Bush-Cheney were nominated and it's when the whole energy gouging began. Remember, Cheney and Bush along with buddies Ken Lay, Saudi Bandar, Exxon and Chevron CEO's and James Baker could control prices, and they did, as for the first time Texas and Saudi Arabia decided to see how much they could steal, and also spend 7 million in pohony TV ads to blame it on CLinton-Gore-Davis because they had "no energy policy". Huge-huge lie.

The gouging only stopped for the period of time when Democrats had subpoena powers in the senate, then it resumed again. Now we are paying twice as much at the pump as when Clinton was in power and it may double again before we get rid of these Texas thieves. I figure in total a trillion dollar theft by the time Bush-Cheney are finished.
