Of course, "Darwin" didn't exactly work the way it should have worked, since the "gene" concept never gave us anything more meaningful than if we just sent a bunch of random cycles through.


Perhaps the problem was not structured correctly? I'm no expert on GA, but for some problems, they can offer an very large improvement over a random approach.
