Any thoughts on whats on GG's aquisition short list?

Here is a rumor from the spring.

"Anyone who went to the Toronto conference would have told you that G is in negotiations to buy a property from Placer."
If this rumour is true, then it could very well be Cerro Cassale. It's obviously not Pueblo, nor is it Cortez. We have all stated our concern that Placer has too much on its plate, and their hand is now being forced on Cerro Cassale since they have to announce a go ahead or give it back by 2005 year end. At this point, it may just seem easier for Placer to unload the property for cash and focus on its other assets such as pueblo and Cortez. In addition, Goldcorp obviously looks like they want to diversify into base metals as evidenced by their merger with Wheaton. I have stated several times that Cerro Cassale is very similar to the Alumbrera property. Both are large scale South American polymettalic copper/gold deposits. The fit certainly looks right, but at this point I wouldn't consider it to be much more than a rumour
