re: GIF
I'm told we just put the official Microsoft GIF on the page. Why Redmond changed it is something you'd have to ask Redmond, I suppose.
re: pencils
I guess the secret is out. Actually we sell three different types of pencils. The traditional NCD pencil is yellow, has a wood shell around the graphite core, works very well in the traditional sense, but no one gets very excited about it in the press, ("you can't fool me - that's the same pencil you've been making since 1988. I don't care if it still works as good as it did back then!").
We also sell Java pencils. It is encased in a beautiful grey and purple case that is sure to win many design awards, (well, at least it doesn't look like any old Intel pencil I've ever seen :). It will require, however, that you invest in a totally new core technology, (it isn't compatible with the existing graphite cores), which we haven't quite got finished yet, but trust me, it is going to be really great when we get it finished. Just to show you how serious we are about it we have an internal commitment to ban all wooden pencils internally, and by Q4 of this year we will have replaced 3000 internal pencils with our own Java pencils.
Last but not least we sell Windows pencils. This is for our customers who aren't quite ready to leave the old graphite core technology behind, but really want to move from the simple wooden pencils to one of the new wonderful mechanical jobs. The only issue we have with this one is that everytime we release a new graphite core we find that it won't fit into the existing mechanical package, so you will have to assume that you'll need to buy a new pencil case everytime you want new lead.
Now that you all know the truth, please don't let it out beyond this list. I really would like to continue to delude my family and friends into believing I'm in some wonderful high tech-y sort of thing. It sounds so good back at the reunions ... |
