briskit, The state of Tejas of the nation Mexico. Prior to that it was Spanish, then before that there were at least, 25 tribes within the borders of what is Texas today.

I once had a list of them, including the friendly Karankawa who practiced cannibalism. In eastern Texas, the Caddo nation consisted of many tribes, one of them being the Tejas, hence the name of the state.

I'm on my way out the door for 10 days, but wonder what part of Texas you are from. I was raised in Houston, but spent most of my years in the small town of Brenham, better known as Blue Bell ice cream country. :^)
