I agree. And have often wondered how much the very public divisions and rancorous debate that lasted long after the election unintentionally contributed to the timing of 9/11. As there was a huge minority that considered Bush an illegitimate occupant of the oval office and said so loudly, could the planners have misjudged Americans and thought he would be too weak to respond effectively?
