Off Topic -re: the garden of weeds (vbg)

ecrire ["Congrats for exit from Isopatch garden of weeds. He is a pompous, ignorant, vindictive ass. He trades pennyante crap and tells you he bot some crap at 1.22 and sold at 1.24. That makes him a genius. There are a few decent posters there, too bad they are willing to waste their time there. Good luck! BTW, he still owns FRD at 15. It's now 7."]

I don't really care whether anyone is a Bull, or Bear; Long, or Short; or either right, or wrong... most of us are usually all of the above at one time, or another.

I value the various SI Threads for "idea generation" and individual posters for bringing individual stock idea's, or thoughts on different trends in different sectors, or general market direction etc... both Pro & Con and Bear & Bull.

Original idea's and outside of the Box thinking have value for me.

Jumping up and down about clipping .03 cents 4 times on a stock that's moved $5 mystifies me... as it does when someone goes from "all in", to "all out" 29 times in 30 days - virtually always following the tape from green, to red; or red, to green and then always disappearing whenever the tape get's tough... only to always reappear after the busy work schedule, or family matters are resolved that always miraculously occur ONLY during difficult tape action (vbg) - "glad to have either sold, or held" which ever way the tape had eventually resolved itself...

A little bit of BS, sometimes even a lot of BS is tolerable... but, when it reaches a level that insults everyone's intelligence and when that braggadoccio bs level takes over an entire thread - where original thought and value is no longer occuring and only one-upmanship Fish Story Swapping BS is occuring... it's time for some Fresh Air ~

There have always been threads on SI where people congregate to blow smoke up each others @sses and swap fish stories... that will never change and it isn't hard to tell where they've congregated in the past, nor where they are now ...

We all occassionally get sidetracked in the BS - I plead guilty.

So now it's time to exit the 'BS games' and get back on track to discussing idea's an trends - pro & con, Bull and Bear.

I've got an outside the Office day today... tomorow - how about it being "Sub Prime" Idea day...

I should have time to put some of my idea's together on interest rates, trends within SubPrime and some individual names etc.

Everyone else...feel free to join in - with your thoughts on individual stocks, trends etc.

re: SubPrimes... most people are already familar with the recognized "names" in the SubPrime Sector like NEW, or LEND,or NFI (not looking too good here and certainly on DEATH WATCH @ 30% of the float Short. There are still some great shorts here... and the Death Watch Candidate List is a timely topic; as well as the "Morgage REIT" Business Model - which I think has some inherrent weakness in this environment... all comments welcome.

re: the small cap arena - has anyone else been following either of these 2 names by chance ?

UFMC (United Financial Mtg) a micro-cap based in Chicago.
finance.yahoo.com

Or, DFC (Delta Financial) out of NY State ?
finance.yahoo.com

I shorted this vis a vis the Private Placement theme - that I've spoken about regarding some of the goldstocks:

Delta recently had a large Private Placement from very heavy Family/Insider holdings... it's accelerating it's growth rate directly into what I veiw as a an environment where the large, well capitalized players - along with difficult market conditions that are accelerating - are begining to pressure margins...in a hyper-competitive market that must now chase more RISK to Grow....and imho; when small subprimes are forced to chase more "RISK" to keep up Rapid Growth in an environment like this.... - not good.

- my radar also get's tweaked on this type of Family/Insider concentration.

biz.yahoo.com
T.Rowe Price is the ONLY significant Institutional Holder...

- more mananna,
