Good work Joe on tracking Phonedo and the MRW 55.
For those also interested in tracking where MRV’s Metro Ethernet strategy is trending, the presentations on this site are worth looking at.

Service Aware???
Another clue from the past on where MRV is trending and why…
Combining IntServ, DiffServ, and MPLS offers a practical "service-aware" QoS architecture that enables service providers to create and deliver a wide range of IP-based voice, unified communications, and data services over a single access network. This approach enables all services -- packet-based voice, tiered data offerings, and secure VPNs -- to dynamically share the same link and provides network operators the tools to optimize resource utilization on their access networks. Finally, an IntServ/DiffServ/MPLS architecture reduces the complexities and costs associated with operating multiple access networks and provides investment protection by integrating with existing legacy infrastructures, while allowing carriers to follow a smooth migration path to converged, IP-dominated networks. tmcnet.com
All the emphasis on MPLS over the last 18 months???
MPLS represents the best alternative for enabling traffic engineering and QoS in the heterogeneous public networks. Although originally intended as a means to enhance routing performance, continued improvements in that area have shifted the application focus of MPLS to its inherent capabilities for delivering efficient and scalable traffic engineering and QoS in IP-based networks.
What’s key???
KUDLOW: Any smaller companies we could take a flier on?
Mr. WILLARD: The company that supplies the components into this fiber business, some of them are--and the problem is they're just the margins on that business. The volumes have not been high enough, but the margins have not been what they need to be, but MRVC, which supplies into this business; JDSU is hopefully going to start seeing some growth out of this stuff.
KUDLOW: Great.
Mr. WILLARD: And they need growth with margins--is the key.
Low Total Cost --- SFP HDTV -- Fully Converged --- High Functionality -- Beyond Triple Play -- Ipv6 --Dune/Marvell/Prestera ASICs -- Scalability == Growth with Margins
