Bellcore And CNET Offer End-To-End Architecture And Engineering
Solutions For Wireless Networks

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 1997--Bellcore and CNET announced today that they have formed a
non-exclusive relationship to provide enhanced end-to-end wireless network architect and engineering technology products
and services for the telecommunications industry.

CNET, Inc. a part of Glenayre Integrated Network Group, is a leading developer of integrated software solutions for the
wireless communications industry. Bellcore is a leading provider of communications software, engineering and consulting
services. The announcement was made at PCS '97, which is being held here from Sept. 10-13.

Bellcore will incorporate CNET's WiNGS(TM) RF design planning software as part of its portfolio of wireless engineering
services. In addition, CNET will use Bellcore's advanced wireless engineering technology and expertise in their WiNGS
product offering. A demonstration of the integration of these technologies is available at the PCS event in the Bellcore booth
#14209.

WiNGS (Wireless Network Graphics System) enables wireless carriers to visually analyze and predict RF performance
utilizing different types of critical data -- coverage, interference, channel-loading, traffic, demographics, terrain, detailed
roadways and microwave path analysis. WiNGS is also capable of importing field measurement data for use in the design
process.

Bellcore and CNET bring together integrated circuit, traffic, and radio engineering tools for the design of economical and
reliable wireless networks. Bellcore's network simulation and emulation tools can be used to predict overall network
performance before a network is built. Bellcore and CNET combine scientific, engineering, and project management expertise
to deliver what the wireless telecommunications industry needs to design, construct, and operate PCS, cellular, and paging
networks worldwide.

``Access to Bellcore's research on leading edge RF models and emerging wireless technologies will further strengthen CNET's
leadership position and enable us to continue to outpace our competition through technological advances,'' says Dan Case,
president of Glenayre Integrated Network Group.

``Our agreement with CNET fulfills an immediate need for a proven high-tier RF engineering software tool,'' says Jon Jervert,
Bellcore's director of wireless business consulting services. ``As Bellcore continues to support the rapid expansion of wireless
networks and network technologies worldwide, WiNGS will play an important role in Bellcore's delivery of wireless architect
and engineering services.''

CNET, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Glenayre Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:GEMS) helps wireless operators optimize
their infrastructure investment, reduce costs, acquire and retain customers and aggressively compete in the exploding wireless
marketplace with its family of integrated software tools. CNET can be reached at (800)-332-2638 or by email at
info@cnetinc.com. Glenayre Technologies Inc. is a worldwide provider of telecommunications equipment and software
specializing in paging, cellular, voice processing, point-to-point wireless interconnect and communications network
administration products and services. Additional information about Glenayre is available on the company's Web site at

Bellcore, based in Morristown, New Jersey, is a leading provider of communications software, engineering, consulting and
training services based on world-class research. Bellcore creates business solutions that make information technology work for
telecommunications carriers, business and governments worldwide. Bellcore has sales offices throughout the U.S., as well as
