Mish:

I suspect that no matter what the Fed or other central banks do, we are in for a serious bout of deflation. The housing bubble is in the thorn bushes, and when it lets go, real estate speculators will play musical chairs with the lions in the Coliseum (and drive house prices off a cliff in a selling panic?). Worse, consumers will head for the storm cellars. With fewer consumers, the current excess global capacity will further exacerbate already saturated markets. Hard to see how prices can rise in such a scenario, ......unless Helicopter Ben makes good on his promise. (g)
