The key passage in the message from the Softex rep is this: Windows XP (should) load the drivers for the docking station on it's own

Indeed. XP has much more native functionality for peripherals and hot swapping than previous versions. Near as I can figure from my I3800, the only thing I'm missing is a "Softex" entry in Program Files. Everything else works fine. I'll be loading XP Pro on a Lat C600 in the next day or so, and testing same for docking/peripheral functionality, but I anticipate that XP will provide anything that's needed. Have you tried plugging the CPx into the dock, and waiting for the New Hardware Wizard to do it's thing? That should be all that's required.
