Last Saturday's evocation on the need for a balanced life might be a new low point. It sounds like he is channeling Dr. Phil and rationalizing why he can spend time bikin' and hikin' while there is so much more governin' that could be done. Hey, why not veto a pork-laden spending bill while you are down there. Hagel's continuing defection is bad news for Mr. Bush. Hagel carries a lot of weight in the rational GOP.
