One can think it was a wrong decision without going in to the motives of the folks involved. I think it was the wrong thing to do simply because I think nuclear weapons should not have been used- even if their use, in this one case, saved lives, and since we cannot know what would have happened, the "life saving" effects of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are far from clear, anyway (not that this matters a great deal to me). Just look at how many folks were "sure" there were WMD in Iraq. Sometimes the things that majorities are absolutely sure of, are just plain wrong, and there's no way to test this- when it's a case of the path not taken.

I don't care about motives, myself. It was wrong based on other factors.
