tenured professor, i guess my point i have seen corp take a position after so many years of service a person is bullet proof unless they break the law. I have seen some managers just put into a closet situation and left there to run out their time till retirement. I have seen other managers get transferred from one coast to the other to try to make them quit but they remain however lost they are in the organization.

they don't have tenure but some become untouchable. what do you call it?
