But how do you stop it with a 2000 mile border? A mile is eight city blocks; how many officers/soldiers does it take to secure eight linear city blocks, multiplied by 2000 miles?
The Mexicans are not the problem, the problem is the people that hire the Mexicans to save a few $'s in labor cost. They are criminals, breaking US laws. They are the offering meager wages that the Mexicans are willing to risk their lives for.
You put the people in jail who hire illegals; the corporate (blind eye) decision makers, to the people who have illegal Mexican nannies, to the people who hire day labor; and illegal immigration will stop dead in it's tracks. No jobs, no illegal immigration.
And the side benefit is that at the low end of the job market, wages and benefits for US citizens will rise. More competition = higher compensation. And a flattening of the wage scale.
We just have to get the criminals that are encouraging, actually paying these people to risk their lives walking the deserts of Arizona in August. They are the bad guys, not the Mexicans trying to make a better life.
Who do you blame, the illegal Mexicans, who are trying to improve their lot in life, or the employers? Punish the enabler, not the victim.
