Friends,
I started the earlire thread (Corel--$100 in 1998), and I closed it a pessimist. I mentioned in detail Cowplands mistakes and bad calls. I suggested that even if the products are great, as long as the same management remains, Corel is doomed. I said Dr. Cowpland must go!
This stock has been going down steadily for more than 2 years now. The only thing that can lift it back up, IMHO, is nothing short of new management. Also remember that Cowpland has been 'making changes that will lead to profitability' for a long time now, and the new shift--the enterprise--could take another year or two, and only then will we know how profitable it ended up being. But once again, Cowpland has made so many bad calls, that it is mind boggling that he has a single supporter out there. Also, we have to remember that the Suite market is fairly saturated, which also is bad news for Microsoft--but at least Microsoft has many other cows.
The only good thing a Corel shareholder can do (other than selling your shares and buying into a good, solid company) is to urge Cowpland through email messages, letters, and other means to RESIGN ASAP.
