>Yes, but Palestinians do not have our kind of money and I have a suspicion if Palestine becomes a state, the WB will be the job center. People may have to commute daily.

I'm not sure it can work... whereas the borders can be protected for Israel's sake, having the Palestinians travel over Israel every day poses a real security risk for Israel.

May be so but its not very reasonable. At one time under the UN's partition plan, Gaza and the WB touched. But that original map has been so butchered by the Israelis due to all the wars and by Israel's annexation of Palestinian land, that the original map bears little relationship to the present reality. I don't expect Israel to go back to the UN's original plan but I do think Israel needs to make a concession on this issue.

Here's the original map under the UN's mandate:

For someone like me, its almost shocking. Originally, Jerusalem was in the middle of the West Bank portion of Palestine. Now its within Israel. By looking at a current map of Israel, you can see how far east Israel has extended its eastern boundary so it could absorb Jerusalem. And then Israel didn't stop there........it went ahead and annexed Jerusalem's eastern suburbs. Its no wonder the Palestinians are furious.

Its very depressing....the fighting over these issues will go on for decades.
