Btw, C-SPAN has still not managed to ride any satellite outside of USA.
(one of my last telephone calls, before I left USA, no-no-niet-njet sputjnik)

However, they were one of the first to start streaming over internet, 12-20 kbps but now even 300kbps.
broadbandc-span.org

Probably for that very same sputnik reason.

What is more and really funnier is obviously the history of CNN and that C in C-SPAN is for Cable, while S is for Satellite, while CNN managed to use US satelites to get past those terrestrial radio-links, funny history.

However, I have heard rumours that some in UK, even Australia, have C-SPAN (limited version) on their Cable..

Funny stuff, as they now, forced by Paine, the Thomas, stream everything over internet.
(me likes the morning prayer of the US congress, every morning)

OK,OK, when they did this Kerry-thing from 1971, it was not video-streamed over the global internet, just the domestic internet, but they did stream it over their global audio-channel

Copywings and wongs, as the chinese say, when winging the wong number..

That too, old joke..
