The problem is that Divx machines can play DVD titles but DVD titles can't play Divx title. There is no upgrade from DVD to Divx. If you own a DVD player today, to bad. Cube could supply chip for either. They don't care. But Divix isn't ready until mid 1998. Would you buy a DVD machine today or wait until next year to see how Divx is accepted? In my opinion The Mouse just screwed the 1997 consumer DVD market.
