I thought of an excellent analogy to Air America vs. Rush Limbaugh's coverage in the American MSM. It is pretty common these days to see stories in the MSM about Christianity, whether about some new angle like the DaVinci Code or a church's practices or just an expose on some aspect of Christianity. It is much much rarer to see the same sort of MSM coverage of Jewish, Muslim or other minor religions in America.

Does this point to a bias on the part of the MSM in favor of Christianity? Although on the surface it appears this is this case, it's probably not. The one thing that biases the MSM's coverage is ratings, and stories on Christianity garner big ratings, while stories on other religions don't. Thus you see many more stories about Christianity. It has gotten to the point where it seems the networks go out of their way to cover Christianity, with 20/20 and Dateline specials about the life of Jesus and such. Do you really think the MSM is trying to convert America into a Christian nation? No. It's all about ratings and money. Well that's exactly why the Big Khuna Rush Limbaugh gets so much more scandal driven coverage than Air America. Could you imaging Air America featured on the likes of the National Enquirer? People would be like, what the hell is this?!? But, they all know Rush and want to read about his drug problems. Notariety brings srcutiny, such is life in modern America.
