There are parts of life where one only attempts the best one knows how. One allocates resources. Some as one's best guess to mitigate risk and create intangible returns.

And for many investments that are future shaping, in that one cannot know the future or alternative futures, one does not have a means of assessing a return on investment.

The concept of stop loss is about short term analysis. That does not apply to long term security. If one does not get that, one does not get that.

All soldiers who serve in a real war theater gain experience worth millions of dollars in training. They will be far better and more effective in the ability to defend America.

The fact others know we have hundreds of thousands of War hardened soldiers may indeed prevent future War. To the hard nosed who dominate much of the rest of the world, the war of eliminating the Taliban and Saddam was awe inspiring. The planning and execution was stunning.

The value of that respect is priceless.

The building of a country is thousands of times more complex and should take decades. America doing it in far less than a decade will also be awe inspiring and stunning.

In that Europe and England has seen terror attacks and the USA has not, I think terrorists may well be afraid of America. That is to say they fear they do not have the ability to strike with success.

Terrorists have been reduced to killing Muslim woman and children. That I believe is the downfall of their cause.

Having been involved in the planning of large scale engineering programs, the idiots who whine about planning in Iraq clearly have no concept of large systems planning. I wonder if they could plan a walk across Central Park in NY NY.
