"no law may contradict Islamic principles"

Calculated could you please clarify for me - now I have read here in the states that some BIBLE folks - jehovahs book - they take that eye for and eye stuff literally, go pick up guns and kill people or bomb buildings - now certainly perhaps people from other religions or non religious folks could look at these american baptist types and say oh my god - why does america support that. We can pull stuff from the bible or these folks beliefs that are extreme and violent - but most christian baptist types I know are pretty laid back and not wanting to shoot someone enraged with hate.

If a religion can help stabalize a country and perhaps prevent more death and killing and extremist type stuff - what is the problem? What do you have against islam or any other religion - say christianity if removing respective religion would create voids that violent types would fill? Most believers in Islam are not going to blow up stuff are they? So what is your fundamental problem - we should ban all religion and leave this void for hopeless folks - where maybe some religion, any religion, will keep the violence to a minimum? Do you really think there are people in society who only blow stuff up or kill because they were taught religion - that it has nothing to do with thier chemical makeup, personal life of negative experiences, lack of hope, filled with rage that would happen wether they had religious teaching or no?

Violence can be learned in many ways - are you telling me we should stop islam government because knowing islam makes you a violent bomber?

Keep your kids away from video games?

WASHINGTON: Kids and adolescents playing violent video games can become more aggressive, a new study shows.

The findings, which are based on a review of the last 20 years of research, were presented to the annual convention of the American Psychological Association in Washington Friday.

Playing violent games for even a short period of time can lead to more aggressive behaviour, said researchers Jessica Nicoll and Kevin Kieffer of Florida's Saint Leo University.

Their study shows that children playing violent video games were deemed more hostile by their teachers, more likely to get into fights and more likely to challenge authority figures.

Kids playing these games "tend to imitate the moves that they just 'acted out' in the game they played," Kieffer said.

While the researchers determined that more boys play these games than girls, it showed that aggressiveness also increases for those girls that play them.

The two researchers lauded current practice of rating games, which prevents young children from buying them, but they said more research is needed "to explore why many children and adolescents prefer to play a violent video game rather than play outside, and why certain personalities are drawn to these types of games".
