re: Our oil consumption is doing that. If every power plant built since the first oil crisis been nuclear, our dependence on foreign oil would have been a fraction of what it is today, with a side benefit of not wrecking the economy, hence the GDP above.

What fraction, 7/8? Over 40% of our consumption goes to personal motor vehicles. That's the bulk, that's where the savings can come. By the way I favor nuclear power, always have.
