Prayer request

Please pray for my brother, as his house burned down on Saturday night. The living quarters in both units (2 unit house) is a total loss. The basement was spared fire damage, but is heavily smoke and water damaged. An attached garage, which held thousands of dollars in tools and equipment was spared any damage. My brother is a mechanic by trade and for years had worked out of this very large garage. He acknowledges the blessing of what was spared, but yet must face the damage done to his living space. The house was condemned when the firemen left last night. He had no insurance.

This is the brother that is my partner in the real estate venture. Last night as his house was burning, the man purchasing the other house was calling. How ironic is that? I cannot help but wonder what God's plan in this tragedy is. I know God see's the whole picture, and we only see such a small part of that. I did share with my brother today that people started praying for him within minutes of the house starting on fire. I randomly had called him to see how he was doing, unknowingly it was only minutes after the fire started.

He seems to be handling this well, maybe too well. I don't know if he is in shock or if he is just facing it head on.
He made the comment: "God never closes a door without opening a window." I hope this situation can be used to draw him closer to God. I pray it does not drive him away and make him angry.

I do also praise God that he and his dog both got out without any injuries. The other apartment was vacant.

In Christ,
Jane
