Even if "patriots" disagree with Cindy, they ought to realize that in her own way she is as patriotic as they are. It is patriotic to have an opinion about which way your country should go, and it is patriotic to express it. It is NOT very nice to attack other people who are merely expressing their opinions, though I think it is the duty of every one of us to try to have an opinion, and to express it logically, and without demonizing our opponents (or calling them "crazy" or "deranged" or "traitors"). Patriots come from all sides of the political spectrum. The ONLY people who are not patriots are people who want America to fail, and who work toward that end. Being a liberal and thinking America should be on a different course is not anti-patriotic, as so many people on the right seem to think. It is simply seeing a different way for America to succeed. People who are at opposite ends of the political spectrum, and want America to thrive and succeed, but see the ways for America to thrive and succeed are different, have no business questioning each other's patriotism. I see most of the "traitor" garbage coming from the right, but if any of it comes from the left, it is equally garbage. While I completely disagree that this government has made America more secure, or has engaged in this war logically, and for the good of America, I do not think they made the mistakes they made because they are traitors. I think this administration did very foolish things, that have endangered the US financially, and wasted our young men and women in a war that will end up making the world less secure, but I'm also sure they did it guessing (or perhaps being absolutely sure) that they were doing what was "best" for American.

That's maybe a scarier thought than thinking they are traitors, but nevertheless, I'm pretty sure they believe their own rhetoric.
