Bill, re: Iraq is a subset of the WOT, and is a phase that requires a certain method. Simultaneously or subsequently, other aspects of the job will certainly implement other methods as you suggest. It's not an "A or B" situation, but this specific and necessary part of the job is where we get our hands dirty.

The short history of our adventure in Iraq indicates that with respect to the war on terror and creating a safer, saner, world, Iraq is an unnecessary part of the job that is getting our hands very dirty and making us look like bumbling, bullying, arrogant fools.

And then there are, of course, the dead soldiers and the billion of dollars spent and the massive expenditure of manpower that could be well utilized somewhere else. Ed
