PENTAGON 2000 Announces Direct Interface with USA Information Systems (USAInfo)
New York, New York, 20 August 2003 – PENTAGON 2000 Software, Inc. announced today that the PENTAGON 2000SQL interface to USA Info is complete and available to all PENTAGON 2000 and USA Info (USAinfo.com &CD-FICHE) customers. The USAInfo interface provides a fully-automated, seamless connection to PENTAGON 2000SQL users for fast based internet-based access to USAInfo’s extensive and up-to-date supplier profiles, government procurement history and NSN database information with links to the USAInfo online technical document library, DoD solicitations and more. For PENTAGON 2000SQL users, access to USAInfo services is easier than ever, continuing PENTAGON’s tradition of maximizing user productivity by providing a computing environment that enhances workflow.
PENTAGON 2000 and USAInfo’s development teams have created a the state-of-the-art interface to employ multi-threading technology via fast HTTP protocol connection and background management of send, receive and processing of queries and replies. When the PENTAGON 2000SQL user sends a query to USAinfo.com, the system sends the request to a separate internal process that is automatically managed and balanced to other system resource requirements while allowing the user to continue working on other tasks. The USAInfo reply is shortly received and the user is notified and can take the appropriate action.
