Forty years after WW11 how many of the 265,000 troops in Germany were being killed by German insurgents and killing Germans to "help" them?

I think the more pertinent question is how many GI's were being killed just after hostilities ceased.
I recall that the last official US WWII KIA in Germany, was listed as killed in 1949...may have been 48.
And that did not end it.

I recall numerous other incidents. Here are two.
In the 60s or very early 70s, an Army LTC was assassinated by German terrorists in front of the IG Farben building in Frankfurt.
In the 80s terrorists blew up an American GI hangout in Berlin.

We average 350-500 bomb incidents annually in America. My point being that a certain amount of terrorism exists in every society...We have to accept some level, while always of course, working to keep it in check.
