It would be rare indeed for a Canadian physician to be restricted by that particular caveat. They are permitted to prescribe almost any approved drug where, in their best judgement, it is indicated.
In my opinion they wouldn't stop prescribing it without observing an unwanted effect. I checked this out with some known Pennsaid prescribers and they absolutely agreed with the above conclusion. Mostly because it's considered a topical rather than a systemic agent,
