Really, our problems in Iraq stem from a flawed invasion strategy. If the invasion had followed the Powell Doctrine the country would never have fallen apart, as it clearly has now. Rumsfeld and others convinced the president to invade the country on the cheap.... A force at least twice the size was needed to actually win this fight. Invade the country, crush Saddam's forces and then have another force of equal size move in to protect infrastructure and police the people. All that occured was the invasion, and then thumb twindling, oh my, look the Iraqis are not embracing freedom.
