There will be trouble for us in that region for generations whether we invaded Iraq or not. The chance that seeds for some moderation might be planted by our actions is worth the effort. Failure to at least try only increases the odds of a more world wide conflagration in the not too distant future.

We have been at war for decades with the radicals of Islam, that is unlikely to change without some drastic shifts in the quality of life in that region.
