Slag, you call me a liberal, I call you a commie. It's label-playing. I'm pointing out how inaccurate the labels are and how fluid the meaning of the words. Those who purport to be freedom lovers seem anything but.

"Free trade" is proclaimed even while quotas, subsidies, tariffs and restrictions are in force. Hypocrisy reigns supreme.

You are describing eons-old xenophobic, racist, tribalistic, alpha male kleptocratic dominance hierarchies, which is nicknamed "nationalism".

That has been shown to be a loser process. Which is not to say that people won't do it again and again, with much the same result each time. It takes a long time and lots of dead people to filter faulty DNA out of the human species.

I have been to China and you are wrong, there are lots more people there than "Chinese". People living in China, contrary to popular myth, are not all mindless clones, looking and thinking the same. They do not all have the same mother and father.

Of course China, like many countries, has had limited miscegenation because it has not been an easy matter to move countries over the centuries. First one needed a horse. Then a motive. Now, it's much easier and the process has accelerated dramatically. Around the world in 24 hours is easy and the cyberphone works there too. There's a lingua franca too. Money is fungible.

We are not going back to the 19th century.

You nationalists are crazy! We liberals are harbingers of the future. Nationalism versus liberalism. Xenophobia versus globalisation. Freedom versus suppression. There's a lot of fun to be had.

PS: Of course there is still plenty of nationalism and I'm an advocate of strengthening it through tradable citizenships, defining individual property rights to commonly owned national assets. Strengthen it, while freeing people from it, while giving them ownership control of it.
