I don't really see anything to get worked up over, depending on how he said it. Don't like the message? Get another doctor. Some people as so far in denial about their health that it takes someone like that to get their attention and wake them up to the reality of their condition. My brother-in-law fits that description. He's probably 200 pounds overweight and despite contracting diabetes and suffering two heart attacks nothing changed in his life until his new doctor spoke bluntly and in some detail about his appearance, his failure to take responsibility for his actions, as well as his probable lifespan and loss of limbs. It got his attention and has literally changed his life for the better. I haven't seen him this relaxed and happy in almost 20 years.
