IMHO: Who is on the local gov'ts in Minnesota?

Are they in the Real Estate business?

I wondered and checked out some local city councils in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro. At first, I found that the Mayor and council members of one city were in Real Estate. The Mayor was an agent or ex agent, several of the council members were builders & mortgage people. I thought that was odd but it was more so when I found...

I thought this was confined to one city but I was wrong, there were several other cities in the metro where the local city council were ruled by Real Estate people. They typically have a day job but have a part time job with the city.

Now, I wonder if any or all of these cities have growth restrictions. Who passed them? Who was involved and what was their vote? I also found out that in many of these metro cities, the minimum to build a Single Family House on a city lot was in the range of $350,000 to $400,000 and this info is two years old. I wonder why that is?

Who is in your local/county/state governments? What is their day job?

Just my two cents...
