Samsung sells video-on-demand tool to Sprint

SEPT. 9, 1997 - Samsung Data System will export Smart Studio Version 2.1, a writing tool for video on demand, to Sprint
of the United States, a company spokesman announced Monday.

With this contract, SDS will be able to participate in a pilot VOD service provided by Sprint to about 200 households in San
Francisco, the spokesman said. The software consists of a Smart Player and a Smart Studio, which enables production of
VOD programs by using letters, pictures, cartoons, voices and motion pictures.

SDS plans to export more than US$1 million worth of its Smart Studio programs this year, with a strategic focus on sales to
hospitals and airlines, according to the spokesman.
