By my calculations Bush has succeeded in doing in 4 years and 215 days what it took Clinton 8 years to do: increase the national debt by over 36.76% from what it was when he took office.

But he's still got a long way to go to surpass his dad's record of a 56% increase in just 4 years.

Running up the national debt seems to run in the Bush family.
