shadowman, yes - everyone considering DSL needs to check availability in their areas by typing in their phone number.

I have the pricey Comcast cable at $45, approximately. But having seen DSL at a friends house it would serve ok for my needs at a lower price. It's about half the speed of Comcast cable.

PS: Comcast claims they upped download speed to up to 4 Mb/s but all I can get is 3 on a very good day. customer service is of no help, so I won't pursue it because I would probably not notice the difference with my usage. Example: downloaded a 500MB audio book yesterday and it took almost 3 hours. Clearly it was so slow because of the server I got the book from, not my connection. Should have taken less than an hour.
