WalMart and Starbucks don't open up or stay in business without the help of people in a number of other skilled and specialized occupations, from lawyers and accountants to A/C contractors and plumbers. No business operates in a vacuum, so I'm sure you're just kidding. <<gg>>

Anyone who wants to get in touch with the various types of jobs and skill sets needed by employers can simply consult the weekend classified ads in a large metro newspaper.

There must be some weird reason that experienced HVAC technicians and plumbers are being offered signing bonuses of $1,000 or $1,500 in those ads, locally. Could it be that some good-paying job opportunities actually exist out there?

Naw......must be my imagination.

It must also be my imagination that when I call for a refrigerator repairman or a plumber, I'm told one can show up maybe "sometime" in the next two or three days, if I'm lucky.

The newspaper ads seem to indicate we have a local shortage of dental hygienists to take care of all the Starbuck/WM employees' teeth.<<gg>>

Teachers, too...we can use more of those.

Electricians and engineers could have an absolute job-hunting field day, if the ads are any guide.
