I edited my post too late for you to see how much I agree with you. But I fail to see how our current (and probably short-lived) enchantment with owning multiple housing or taking advantage of tax breaks associated with it will detract from other segments of the economy long-term. Our failure in terms of preparing workers for tomorrow's (today's) jobs began a long time ago. Housing has nothing to do with it, in my humble opinion.
