I believe that the chip makers will welcome WIND with open arms. TI already works with third party software companies for thier development tools. I think they would welcome any tool that improves the software development cycle.

About a 1.5 years ago I was working on WIND's VxWorks to develop applications for the Mot 68040 processor and at the same time worked on the TI-C40 DSP processor. I remeber talking to the WIND rep asking him why they don't support the TI DSP. His response was that the DSPs are too hardware dependent. If somehow WIND has been able to overcome this hardware dependence it will lead to many advantages for both the development groups and chip manufactureres.

I hope this helps
