Thanks for that article. I wish that the author had attempted to place some numbers on the cost of using USD for others. What exactly is the burden of exchange when done in large amounts? I suspect it is very small.

BTW, thanks also for a pervious link looking at world trade. Did you notice that some of his graphs mixed purchasing power equivalent GDP with import/export in $ which unfortunately led to some rather incorrect values IMO. For instance, it made Germany look like a very heavily import/export dependent country while making China not appear so.
