That reminds me that Mephisto is the reason these threads even exist. Mephisto asked Brad & Jeff to allow her to start a thread for people to use to talk about things other than stocks because people were complaining about too many off-topic posts, they said ok, and the Coffee Shop was born. (Wonder how many people just choked on that thought ;-) You answered the question I always wanted to ask, but felt it was none of my business to ask: why no advertising here: "we don't WANT to attract non-market advertisers." I've heard that a few of the more popular political weblogs are drawing a few thousand per month from advertising, but the ads might cause you more trouble than they are worth, I guess.
