When I went to Anchorage in years past I ate at a restaurant named "Harry's". It was named after Harry Truman of Spirit Lake, by the owners who were apparently friends of his. Pictures of the old coot decorated the walls. It was a friendly place.

Have you seen the Mt. St. Helens blast zone? Part of it is indistinguishable from a forest, because that's what it is. Part is being allowed to follow "natural" processes. The line between the two parts is like the difference between night and day.
