There is nothing anyone can do for Casey, is there? He doesn't have the privilege of having an agenda anymore.

I think in all fairness to Cindy Sheehan, she feels that Casey was deluded by, and also lied to, by the military. At one point in her blog she refers to the military lying to Casey about the possibility of his becoming a chaplain or some similar religious-type of person. Apparently he was Catholic and very devout. It is easy to see how the mother of a dead son could convince herself that he joined and rejoined because he was naive and misled. As the mother of a twenty-one-year-old daughter, I can see that early twenties adults are still combinations of adults and trusting children. I'm sure she feels heartbroken and guilty and a swirl of all sorts of emotions. When you say this is Cindy Sheehan's agenda, and is not being done for Casey, I'm sure she believes it is being done for Casey (and for all the other soldiers whose lives she would like to protect). Even though I have lots of problems with her being an anti-war leader, because I don't think she is effective, at the same time it seems unfair and cold not to have compassion for her and at least assume that she is attempting to act in an ethical and positive way under really difficult and stressful circumstances.
