Well, that's not quite my intended usage. I know that Palo Alto will always be more expensive than East Palo Alto or Mountain view because of school distrcits, proximity to a more happening night life, or a more active city council. What I didn't expect is that while some markets are rising, just 12 miles up the road they're falling. That's what I mean by micromarkets. I could see why Modesto with a 2.5 hour commute would crack long before Silly Valley central, but San Mateo? Hmmmmm. Burlingame, right next door to San Mateo seems very strong. But then again, San Mateo is no Burlingame. So, that's why I'm questioning Lizzie's comments. It would seem that strength of markets surrounding San Mateo would bleed into San Mateo. I will have to drive around there before sailing this weekend.

Depending on the intended use it's considered detrimental if your next to a stop sigh or have no trees. Even the direction of the wind depending on the stink or the carrying of edifference, sometimes a large difference.
We've been speaking of Oakland here and there are beautiful homes in Oakland I mean gorgeous with access and good schools. But that's not the norm for Oakland and perception has to be over come because of such.
Sometimes and this should make some here to pound a key. It takes a sales person read Agent/Broker to get the price these homes are worth.
