The main English colonies, USA, Canada, NZ, and OZ were mostly just an empty wilderness when they arrived. India, Egypt, Malaysia, and hundreds of other places were just too thickly populated when the English arrived to make suitable colonies for Englishmen to establish new permanent communities of English immigrants.

Interesting stuff, no?
