"People drop off the rolls here after 6 months."

So in other words ALL people that drop off the rolls in 6 months are still looking for work? AND all people that fall off the 6 month window never find work? Look CPI, GNP, employment numbers are mearly intelligent guesses taking into account as many adjustments as possible to come up with a single number to represent where we are versus were we were. 5% used to be the point of "full employment", in fact it was so good that the fed considered it inflationary and would raise rates. Though that is no longer true (im guessing productivity) it still represents a VERY LOW unemployment rate in our history (regardless of who is presdent).

A number of posters here feel either vindicated or offended, not by the numbers, but by whether the democrats or the republicans are in charge. Then either the ditto head media or the franken whatever media fills their constituancy with "proof" that the numbers are ok or not ok. Im sure Liz would be very happy with the numbers if hillary were president. Yet none of these people come up with alternatvives that are not ridiculasly biased. Some claim that they KNOW cause forgien friends know the REAL story. Its all just group think. When you limit your thinking to those that agree the "truth" becomes self evident, regardless of the fact that its nothing more then opinion.

This thread goes way off topic from time to time and wading through the off topic opinion posts just is to much sometimes (especially when there is no ot) If they want to refute some statistic or extrapolation of a statistic then let them do that with facts. If the only fact is "I dont beleive" and it ends with "that bad president" thats to easy. Challenge these people once in awhile so that they have to work a little to prove a point and we get TWO things.

an intelligent conversation.

and

much less posting.

Im not even saying they are wrong (or that you dont know what your talking about with your 10-12% number) but if you want to make your point then use the whatever formula they have in europe and come up with a REAL number.

1. you cant
2. you wont

just cause someone said it would be 10-12% does not make it true. What are we left with? an imperfect yet generally solid government statistic measured against past imperfect yet generally solid statistcal past.

Might as well use those as a basis of any statement or conclusion you want. We have a statically low unemployment, so 11,000 people probably have jobs someplace and are looking to upgrade their lives with a move to walmart. or 11% of all people that are currently out of a job, anywhere in oakland, want to work at this particular Walmart. The former makes sense to me the later seems farfetched. And yes thats just an opinion.

Now what does this have to do with RE? Nothing it belongs on some politcal thread im sure.
