People do not choose to do the right thing as you have stated..I hate to say it but, it must be legislated by government.Canadian's have a health care system that is provided through taxation of the people thus the legislation of mandatory seat belt laws and motorcycle and bike helmets..age rules on the use of jet ski's and 4 wheelers to keep the system afloat, from the long term disabling injury's that occur from these activities.When all of the people are paying the bills unfortunately, free choice to break ones neck must be curtailed.

As we know the American system is different,as individuals are responsible for paying for their own health care, so more freedom of choice to break ones neck<g>

The same process should work for the environment.The government should ban lawns as people could not stop the love affair on their own.<<Ban the consumption of meat>>They should ban the manufacture of incandescent light bulbs, Mandate that every residence must have a 3 litre flush toilet, within 3 or 5 years Caroma toilet comes to mind ..and give incentives, mandate that only highly efficient appliances are sold.. with major incentives.. and tax the hell out of gas guzzler when it is sold and tagged yearly with major tax breaks and incentives for fuel efficient vehicles,hybrid and electric cars, solar and wind for home and business.For good measure ban Washington and Ottawa lobbyist's to a 1 year stint in Canada's far north as vegan's so they can get their priorities straight.<g>
